Cochinita Pibil review by Danielwanderson

Visited here for the first time Saturday after a family member recently moved into the area (Rancho District of Burbank, right next door to the Los Angeles Equestrian Center). This restaurant was fantastic! The decor is very traditional Mexican with heavy dark wood furniture, lots of colorful adornments on the walls, and a beautiful bar, but it is very casual and relaxed! We looked at the menu beforehand (as we always do!) and saw that the food is not necessarily what one might consider 'traditional' Mexican but is a bit more upscale and has distinct Yucatan influenced dishes among the favorites! We ordered a Taco Dorado de Papa (potato taco), Pollo (chicken) Asado tacos w/rice and beans (Frijoles Negros), Cochinita Pibil (slow roasted pork), Ceviche de Cameron (shrimp), Guacamole, and 3 drinks (2 mocktails: Mockgarita, Miche-Nada) and a traditional Margarita. THE FOOD WAS ALL WONDERFUL! And so beautifully presented! (Sadly, we were so blown away by the striking presentation that we forgot to take pictures and got right down to eating!) The potato tacos were super crispy and the corn tortillas for the chicken tacos and Pibil were fresh and thick! The Pibil was definitely a big hit, as it came in its own mini cast iron platter and was fall-apart tender! The sides of rice and beans were also a nice surprise, as the herbed rice had a nice cilantro flavor and the black refried beans were creamy and smooth - side note I have not seen black beans presented this way before as they are usually served as whole beans but definitely liked them served this way even better! Our meal/drinks for 4 came in at a very reasonable $130 with tax and a 3% credit card surcharge (We saw several reviews complaining about the surcharge: we didn't mind it as it is now the norm at some restaurants; they don't surcharge debit cards or cash). Overall, this was a great meal and we will definitely be returning!

Molcajete Azteca review by Rosy

Visited Celia's for the first time and it will not be the last! Because we were hungry we went for the Molcajete Azteca and it did not disappoint! Very good flavor. Our micheladas were 10/10, the Paloma cocktail however, did need some work :( Excited to try their Sunday brunch and excited for other opportunities to try other food on the menu (the Moles)!

Pollo Con Mole Y Arroz

I had the pollo con mole, guacamole appetizer & a Monday margarita. The margarita was fantastic & although it was a discounted margarita it didn't taste watered down. Loved it. The guacamole was great. The pollo was well cooked and mole sauce was excellent. The food is nicely presented on the plate too. Service was great too. A drastic improvement from Cody's version of viva cantina. Of note, the interior has been cleaned up and doesn't feel like a dark cave dive joint but doesn't feel pretentious. Some old elements have been retained.

Pollo Con Mole Y Arroz

My comments are about the service. We came on a Friday at 6:40pm We were seated out in the patio and waited over 15 mins for the waiter staff to acknowledge us. The chips came out 15 mins later. It seems more staff is needed. The patio also needed a dusting. Tables and chairs were not wiped down before seating guests in the patio. The food was delicious.

El caldo tlalpeno is one of my favorites, reminds me my childhood, when my mom used to make it when it was a cold and rainy day, but it's delicious anytime and any day, I challenge you to try it, once you try it you will fall in love. don't forget to pair it with nice and warm tortillas...

Guacamole review by Mailorderonly

We popped in to have a quick bite. The interior is pleasant. We discovered that only one wait staff was on board, working the entire restaurant and bar by himself. This person, Martin, was gracious and expedient, working under pressure to service everyone. The food came out in good time, and the presentation is lovely, not the usual Mexican fare filling a platter. Care was taken to style the food. We appreciated Martin's professionalism and great customer service.

Rancho Coliflor Tacos review by Anthony

The food is always good but the service this time was very slow! It was a Saturday and the restaurant was under staffed!!! It took over two hours to order and finish our dinner!! The waiter was very apologetic, but it was slow none the less!

Queso Fundido review by Delmy

I've been back to Celias several times. Their enchiladas with the Oaxaca Mole, the Carnitas, Queso fundido with chorizo and the Churros with Ice cream were all delicious! Looking forward to going back to check out other menu options. As always, Liz thanks for being so attentive.

Celia's Margarita review by Maggiebaboomian999

We had the margaritas and all you can eat in tacos on Tuesday with love music! The tacos were fresh and the margaritas were strong! We will definitely be coming again.
